Fun time travelling game!, January 11, 2015

You start off interviewing a suspect. You must prove he murdered his wife. Question him, then explore his home for clues. Can you solve the tale?

The puzzles were good, straightforward and not impossible.

My only complaint is that it's not inherently obvious that you won't get through the game without restarting. I hunted down a walkthrough only to realize that you had to leave without knowing the full story.

I enjoyed the twist at the end. I won't spoil it, but it's well done.

Interesting murder mystery., January 10, 2015

This was fun. Not exceptionally great or anything, but worth your time.

You're a 12 year old at a library, hoping to score some extra cash. There's some internet conference about to start, but someone was just murdered! Can you figure out who the killer is before the conference starts?

I enjoyed talking to the various suspects. The first guy was my favorite.

There's a twist ending which was entertaining, but not too far off considering that it was an internet convention.

There could've been more choices, the story was linear, but it wasn't bad. A nice diversion.

I loved this! I just finished it and I still have no idea what just happened. Fantastic use of magic? Time travel? Paradoxes? Dimension hopping?

You are a man. Who every frequently gets whisked away by the darkness, and put into another place. Now you have a noose around your neck! Escape and clear your name somehow!

The story was fantastic, although confusing at parts. The puzzles were straightforward, though I did glance at the walkthrough in the beginning.

Overall, fantastic game! I would love to see more missions from this character, or perhaps the similar woman? Either way, it was a fun way to do a mission, and I would gladly do more.

Bravo!

I loved this! I loved how each part was themed by a color, and finding how everything fit together was really well done.

Having random words defined in parenthesis irritated me at first, but later on it was part of the charm. In the end, that became my favorite POV.

I've always been a fan of multiple perspective games, watching the story unfold from various perspectives and piecing everything together is always enjoyable for me. This game does it beautifully.

Beautiful game. Marvelous.

I enjoyed this a whole lot! The sound effects were nice, and the pictures were a nice addition! You stated it was meant for 9 and up, and the pictures definitely add to the kid- friendly vibe.

The plot and puzzles were nice and straightforward. Your basic get rid of the dragon story.

My one complaint was it was a bit buggy. When trying to buy the box from the little man, I said "yes", answering the npc's question about wanting to buy the box, and instead I am whisked away to the abandoned inn, dropping all my items. A quick undo fixed this, but that was interesting.

After building the glider, the screw driver broke. I typed "fix", trying to see if that would work, and instead it calls my singing abominable. That doesn't sound like a normal outcome for that verb.

Overall, the bugs didn't detract from my enjoyment of the game, you have a nice little adventure here.

I understand you were trying to go all philosophical with inner peace and everything, but not agreeing with the material you presented in game made it a not very enjoyable experience. It felt like I was having those views forced upon me, and I had to agree to proceed.

There also wasn't that much of a plot, just click philosophical links and wal-lah.

I don't know, some people might like this, but I wasn't a fan.

This....isn't a game. It's a ginormous conflobble of a mess.

There is absolutely no plot whatsoever, just a whole lot of random phrases and snippets of could-be games. It was humorous when you read the first page. Then it just kept going and going.....

Yeah, no. Fail.

You are a god. You have a temple. A poor traveler has wandered into your temple seeking shelter from the storm. He asks for safety and food and promises you devotion and sacrifices. Will you help him?

While helping the man is fun, the real star of this game is the parser. It is your loyal servant, telling the man what to do and telling you his actions. Very creative. I've never seen a game where the parser is its own character.

The puzzles weren't bad, though I did peek at the walkthrough. I do wish he had obeyed my command to dance. Ah well.

The game could've been longer, but I enjoyed this. It fit.

I understand the point of this is two people telling each other they love each other literally seconds before the world ends, but that's it.

This in turn becomes a click-fest, and no attention is paid to writing whatsoever as you literally have no time. You either read and die on the first 3 pages, or get far through the game having no idea what you just did.

It's meant to be sweet but ends up being annoying, as I am one who likes to read what's being said, and having that option taken away from me is irritating.

A better way to go about this would be to remove the time limit, and make it so you can only do 5 actions. That way you can read what you're doing, and you get the brevity you were going for.

Nice idea, poor implementation.

This was really fun! You're a dimension hopping being is the best way to describe it. Someone has made a puzzle out of different realities with the purpose of breaking up you and your love, Jave. Can you use your gifts to find her and escape?

Various parties are set in various worlds. Easily the best part.I loved seeing where you ended up and nomming various things from different parties.

The game starts off without any real direction, you're just plopped into a world of worlds just knowing you have to find Jave. That's alright, but there should've been a brief introduction on gifts. You don't even know you have them when you first start.

Neverless, the game is fun, manipulating the people just right is amusing. Could've used more backstory, but it's still great. Bravo!

I tried going to the online version, at the appropriate site. Only to be greeted by a giant black square. Uh....?

Read a few comments, and you have to press space to play the game. It wasn't intuitively obvious. I honestly thought the game failed to load. Don't make your game have such an ambiguous start.

Second, this game needs to be re-written. Your plot is good, I understand what you are trying to convey, but the constant grammatical errors detracted from the overall gaming experience. I suggest you find someone who is a native English speaker and have them write each part in proper English. That would help tremendously.

Overall this is a very short escape game. It would've been better if more interactive parts were available. (Spoiler - click to show) You don't even give us a chance to interact with the wolf, which saddens me.

The fact that it was inspired by a real life pilot was cool, but this game needs a lot of revising to be enjoyable.

I loved this, it was a nice game that sheds some light on the game that inspired it.

You are a girl, who is quarantined in space for unknown reasons, and you must try to make the best out of your predicament. You also have very vivid dreams, and seem to be learning whilst you dream.

The mysteriousness of everything was well done. I appreciated the dream aspect of the game.

And although this game was short, the reveal at the end was great. Shed's some light on deceased colleague Andy is all I can say without spoilers.

Also, I wish your first conversation was longer. I enjoyed learning slang and was hoping for more chances to say it. I always love when games have their own language.

Although I feel this game could've been longer, the length fits and doesn't detract from enjoyment.

Well done!

This by all means wasn't a bad game. It was quite amusing, actually.

This just didn't have the same spirit as the games it's a prequel to.

The main character was fun, but the story felt rushed. The sequels are obviously mentioned, but they felt like they were too blatantly cited.

This is obviously supposed be how the first council was set up but a lot of details were missing.

(Spoiler - click to show)We follow some quirky teenager who's the head of gang who gets kidnapped and then finds a way back to her home station and ends up becoming leader of the planet. It just doesn't make sense.

It doesn't have any real themes either. Just get back home. That's your mission.

Also that maze was impossible without a walkthrough.

I feel so much more could've gone into this. I'm usually a fan of quirkier stories, but this one didn't impress me.

If it was just a standalone story, sure, but being a prequel to two obviously fantastic stories sets the bar pretty high. I unfortunately finished this game disappointed.

Following the events from the first game, you are now a lonely scientific refugee. Your escape pod crashes on an unknown space station, and you have to explore and find a way out of your exploding galaxy.

I enjoyed this game tremendously. The station was intriguing. I loved exploring, and figuring your way around was fun. Having directions at the top of the screen helped, and before too long I knew my away around port!

The puzzles were straightforward, and of good difficulty. I only had to use the walkthrough a couple of times (mainly at the end because I panicked) but overall it was clear what needed to be done. This was a step up from the first game, as sometimes it wasn't clear that you needed to put the disc with the cylinder.

I absolutely love who you "meet" in the ship! Really adds backstory and knowledge, and it was fun getting an insider's take on the rooms I had just been exploring. My favorite part of the game. Well developed too for a character of that sort.

I really liked the use for the ticket, ingenious! Wonderful way to make something so useless useful!

(Spoiler - click to show)I found being able to keep the countdown going amusing. It was helpful as I wandered around at the end though.

The list of achievements was fun, and although I didn't get them all, it was satisfying seeing I earned another one, even if it was the death ones.

This story just adds on to the feeling of loss you felt throughout the first game. As you delve deeper into the story, it intensifies. Flashbacks and meeting your "companion" add to it. But if a story makes you feel, that means it's great and doing its job! And this one does it well. Bravo!

I loved this. The character was great and full of personality. Also smart. This whole game was smart, in its own delightful way.

I loved the fact that it kept the "mindless examining" part of the game to a minimum. It is an ingrained instinct in me to examine EVERYTHING, even if I know it's useless. Lest I leave a valuable tool or plot progressor behind. This game kept that aspect low. It's especially seen in the house. And even when you did examine, it always kept things light and humorous. I appreciate that.

I liked the obvious different realities, one part for dreams, the other for real life. The dreams themselves were always fun, ranging from humorous to thought provoking, and I always enjoyed them. They were delightful random mini games, and I was excited to see where this one would lead.

The way conversations were handled was cool. Sometimes games struggle with conversation, making it so you have to say a certain phrase or word just so. This was easy, read the phrases and pick a number! No having to remember to type 'ask person about topic' when it seems more intuitive to say 'ask about topic'. Conversing didn't feel clunky like it sometimes does.

Also I like games that state exits. A game is about achieving the quest, not about remembering whether you came from the north or not. That made it easy to go from place to place.

Overall great game! Very fun and enjoyable, I loved the personality of the game. Bravo!

This was a neat little game to play. It was engaging without lavish settings or detailed backstories. You truly cared about making things right with what information there was.

The puzzles were simple and straightforward, I only got stuck once. They could've been more complex, but it fit. The simplicity didn't detract from the game.

I like how author presented multiple personalities at once. I won't give anything away, but it was entertaining to see the other characters' take on inventory and such.

Overall, nice little game, I enjoyed it! My only addition would be an epilogue where they all go out for coffee after everything is over. I would like to see that.

I had fun with this, it was a good story. The puzzles were straightforward, no walkthrough required.

I had a nice chuckle at the ending, where he asks for his check. :P

My one complaint is the disabling of the undo feature. People like to try other actions and play around with things. Disabling that feature doesn't allow for that. I had to restart the entire game just because I wanted to see what would happen if I didn't do the obvious. Up until that point, the save feature hadn't been required. It was extremely frustrating.

Word to the wise, if you are like me and not in the habit of saving, save before you enter the sanitorium a second time.

Otherwise, great game!

Andromeda Awakening - The Final Cut, by Marco Innocenti

I absolutely loved this, this truly is a masterpiece. Riveting, thrilling, and sentimental at times. Truly great.

You start off as a scientist, determined to publish your findings after your colleague was murdered. I won't give it away, but things go wrong and you're literally fighting for life.

You get to explore underground facilities and caves, and the puzzles were quite nice. I had to use the walkthrough a couple times, and the game could've benefitted from an in-game map, but overall the puzzles were straightforward and on the right difficulty.

The ending touched me, and I was one of those who hadn't linked "The Event" to us, and I left this game somber and sad. But don't let that stop you, the ending is truly moving and it is a magnificent game. Any game that makes you ponder your existence is truly great and deserving of your time. One of the best I've played on here.

BRAVO!!!

I know this was meant as a puzzle, but to me having to outsmart the ghost who follows you was just annoying. The puzzles weren't overly hard, just frustrating, especially at the beginning.

But besides that, the lack of any real backstory made me dislike this game.

Overall, it isn't horrible, but I don't like puzzles for the sake of puzzles. There has to be more to the story rather than a restless ghost who is now terrorizing the cemetery because of looters. Maybe the deceased was a dear friend. Perhaps the ghost gives the player snippets of his memories of the looters, or even his previous life. There is so much more storywise that could've been added.

Others will like it, but even after completing it I'm not a fan.

This was a fun infomation game. In this game you can't do anything but talk to people. No items whatsoever. I liked it, it was a nice game, relying on conversations to advance the plot. A nice twist.

I found it delightful every time I discovered a new topic or person. I loved getting all the different perspectives and listening to what everyone had to say about everything and everyone.Even the simple minded slab knight.

The story was easy to follow, and I liked the way you slowly introduced the plot to the player. The player starts out having no knowledge at all about who we are, who we're supposed to see or our mission.

It is only with talking to various people that you discover your history and mission, piece by piece. I like that, because most CYOA games follow a predictable plot. The majority of the time the player knows its eventual end, and the steps needed to achieve it. Not knowing either at the start is a nice touch.

I want more of this world, Lissa's words left me hungering for more, be it this character or someone else!

I enjoyed this! Very pleasant!

It was fun talking to her and wooing her. Although all you do is talk, I found the dialogue engaging and had a nice fireside chat.

If you're not a fan of puzzle-less games, don't play this. I can see some people not liking it for lack of action, but it's a rewarding game in its own right.

There are multiple endings, but I didn't bother because I got what I felt was the best ending my first playthrough.

Nice job!

Off the bat I found the other main character to be a prick, and disliked him from the start. (Spoiler - click to show)And I'm supposed to give my life to save the world due to someone who didn't even trust me with the information? Nuh-uh.

It was a short game, and I can see that the author meant it to be a game about love and choice, but the themes weren't represented well at all in my opinion. This one missed the mark, sorry to say.

A delightfully futuristic western tale which is fun all around! I love how each person has a specific way to interact. Being measured was the best part. :D

The western theme is extremely fitting and keeps the player engaged. It is clear to me why people kept mentioning this game in reviews when I played other games by the author. It is quite memorable and a classic.

Mute's inability to talk grew on ya and the story was quite charming at the end. I enjoyed it, it was one heck of a ride! Well done!

This was an overall enjoyable game. I enjoyed (Spoiler - click to show)killing everyone one by one, although it was a bit morbid. I was always fascinated by the descriptions of the creatures and finding out what they really were from the score. I tried to figure out what each creature was and was usually wrong.

The directions took a bit of getting used to, but once you did it was a cinch. Overall, good game!

This story isn't bad, it's just weird to have the settings on god-mode.

You can access any part of the map no matter where you are, which is different, but doesn't really make much sense. Instead of a linear path of going from a to b and if and only if b then c, as long as you know that c exists you can get there from q.

I don't know, it wasn't bad, just felt awkward.

Also, the plot was lacking. Very dry story with obvious plot, no character development or anything at all. Just that you must kill this prince. Needs more meat.

I loved this. Yes it was very short, but you managed to tell a moving story in such a small game. Space travel stories always intrigue me, and this one left me wanting more! Such a beautiful piece, I think the author's purpose was to tug your heart strings a bit, and this definitely does. Bravo!

If you made a longer story in this setting I would love to read it!

The first half is absolutely despicable. , January 2, 2015

I really enjoyed the second half of this game, but I must detract points for an unsolvable first half.

It was a maze of hideous design in my opinion, having to walk through the rooms just right or else you're screwed. I gave up and had to follow the walkthrough. Even then I was screwed.

One would think that if one has given up, all one needs to do is find the entrance point and then follow the walk through. NOPE.

You have to enter the rooms in some precise manner, and I had to completely restart the game so I could get the maze mechanics correct.I like exploring my surroundings, but when exploring becomes detrimental to a complex puzzle, you're doing it wrong.

Also, I found the game incredibly dull and boring at the beginning. You just wander through rooms, without realizing you're in some complex maze puzzle, and you can't pick up anything. To me, half the fun of CYOA games is the objects and what you do with them. Being told I can't do squat irritates me.

Not being able to open doors was infuriating as well. Ok, I must be a ghost. if so, then why can't I just bypass all the doors? Ok, I can't do that, so why are there unopenable doors? How the heck am I supposed to continue the game? What is the point of this game then? GBNGVERGER

I then decided to check the games home page to see what all the fuss was about. Reading reviews it seemed there was a second part that sounded fun. It was. I enjoyed the riddles and seeing the events unfold and deciphering motives, but sadly my frustration with the first part soured my fun with the second half.

This by all means wasn't bad, but it wasn't extraordinary either. I understand you were trying to show different POV's of the situation, but once you did one you've done them all, really. I did find the "true" ending, but even that left something to be wanted.

It would have been better if the characters weren't so obviously linked, like maybe have a different demon's perspective, or someone from the royal family. This game didn't really give any true choices, it was either do it the right way or die.

All in all, you have a nice thing going, just try to put more substance into it.

One heck of a Ride!, December 31, 2014

I enjoyed this immensely. Several different settings, and a nice plot too. A lot of thought was put into this, it's extremely well written.

My biggest concern was the store maze. That certainly got repetitive ( had to look at the walkthrough to figure the end of that out) but I loved the people you met in the supermarket. The rooms you went into were unique enough to keep me satiated, and I wasn't too annoyed by the maze.

I loved this game's theme of life changes, it was really poignant and definitely gave you a lot to think about. Bravo!

This was a good game, by all means. I enjoyed it, the mechanics of delirium were done well. My main complaint is the claustrophobic setting of the game, especially in earlier parts where you can easily become put off by the lack of action. I know that was intentional and is part of its "charm", but I almost gave up early on with the vacuum.

The ending was also a letdown, being ambiguous about what actually happened. Tell us one way or the other, not some weird could be whatever ending. All in all, good game.

Fantastic Story!, December 30, 2014

I really loved this, the mechanics were great, I really liked how you used something as simple as writing a letter to a loved one.

I loved the subtlety of why this phrase needed to be rewritten and choosing was fulfilling. You really got into the minds of the characters and their motives.

I couldn't wait to write each new letter and find out what happens next. You made it thrilling even though all we did was revise.

I would love to see more stories in this form! Bravo!

I get what this is going for, and trying to be all sweet, but to me this was lacking.

I like the style it's written in, changing the conversation slightly, but it didn't feel that personal to me. It didn't engage me.

It would probably feel more intimate if I were a parent, which I am not, but regardless it didn't pull me in as I'm sure it was intended to.

I love the survival theme, and am a sucker for end of the world stories, but this seems like an introduction.

There was no story about how the monsters came, how rampant the infestation was or wasn't, or anything. No meat to it, really. No plot.

I want to know how the character survives afterwards. Even before.

As far as introductions go, this is good, but needs to be fully fleshed out to be considered great. Keep at it, I would love to see a meatier product!

Just wanted to say that I loved your story. Sometimes these non-choice ones are too cut and dry. They can fail to engage you if you're not careful.

I loved this one, I kept wanting to know more about "She", and I loved the overall vagueness of it. It was vague but not too vague, you struck a nice balance and kept the reader hooked.

Since I love to place myself in the role of the main character, at first I was disappointed with the constant mentions of "She", as I'm a straight woman and thought it was going to go down the romantic path.

But I was satisfied with the openness of the ending, letting you derive your own conclusions, whether or not this is the start of a beautiful friendship or something more.

My only complaints are that clicking on some links would loop back to previous things I had already read, and not wanting to miss anything I'd sometimes go into a backwards 3-4 page loop until the story progressed. Maybe next time indicate that these clicks backtrack what we already know?

Anywho, great game, I enjoyed it!

Boo. I wanted to like this game, had fun starting it. But the fact that you're only allowed 20 actions fails.

I either play once a day with limited actions, or buy more. Eesh. You get a little bit into it, just starting to figure things out, and instead of letting you play, it makes you arbitrarily wait. Booooo, boo I say!

Either make it so there's unlimited turns (as it should be), but if you MUST charge money, have people charged once and then get unlimited. Paying for 20 more actions is a gyp.

I'm a sucker for guacamole, so I especially enjoyed that. :P

You should expand this game, somehow. Maybe add more food options?

This was a more-for-fun venture, but you did a nice job at describing the ecstasy of enjoying burritos.

Yeah, it was nice, but I need a whole lot more.

What about the ship? What were the events that led to me pressing it?

Aftermath? I want to know the consequences of pushing the button. Maybe a council looks into who pressed it and you're on the council trying to discover who did it.

Nice beginning, but really needs more to be considered a game.
