A violent and disturbing image of what Pac-Man really is, September 15, 2017
Related reviews: less than 15 minutes

There is a famous alternate version of the pac-man story where pac-man is an astronaut who is having hallucinations about the ghosts of his compatriots, and the dots are pills.

This game is not the same, but it's fairly similar, and has some profanity and violence. Was this game the origin of that pac-man story, or is it parallel development, or do they have a common source?

In any case, an interesting game from a famous author who has disavowed all of their speed-IFs.

Confessions of an Arcade Dot-Eater, September 28, 2009

This very short piece sketches an excentric way of making narrative sense of Pac-Man: (Spoiler - click to show)Pac-Man is a junkie, haunted by ghostly apparitions; he needs a ”power pill” to save his day, drive his ghosts away, and go to junkie heaven. I’m sure the author could have made more of this particular idea; but, as it stands, it’s no more than a mere sketch, with no real choices for Pac-Man to make along the brief way to the ending: you go one way you win, you go another you die. The writing is as good as it comes, though.

Short, but creative take on pacman, July 13, 2009
by maxporter (Philly)

Pacman is a junkie.

Very, very short; no puzzles.

But the fact that Pacman is portrayed as a junkie makes it worth playing the game through once. The writing is really fresh, and the game is funny in a darkly comedic way.

Zero replay value, however.

Baf's Guide

The game that started the IF Arcade. This is a very loose adaptation of the videogame, casting Pac-Man as a guilt-addled junkie. Clever but short, with no puzzles.

Very Short Games by tggdan3
Games that can be completed in less than 30 mintues. Need not be one room (though that obviously helps). Hopefully, the games are fun as well.
