I always loved playing text adventures on my Spectrum but was rarely very good at guessing the verb. So pleased to see that text adventures have now become interactive fiction.
I have really enjoyed playing some puzzleless IF recently, such as 'The Baron' and 'Photopia' but I am still at heart a puzzle-fest fan. I am not the best problem solver and often have to resist temptation to peek at hints. The slighest peek can really put me off carrying on with a game.
One of my proudest IF achievements was solving Andrew Plotkin's 'Hunter in Darkness' without a single hint.
My favourite author at the moment is Andy Phillips. I find most of his IF well implemented, particularly 'Inside Woman'.
