Tours Roust Torus, by Andrew Schultz

A game with a good anagraming sheme., April 15, 2022

TOURS ROUST TORUS

We tested this imaginative game a couple of weeks ago in IFMUD.
Now I have played the game again and it seems more polished to me. As the title says, there are some anagraming puzzles, none of them are specially difficult, they are affordable ones.
There is also some exploration work in the game. When you wander through a torus there is no cardinal directions.
The last puzzle has enough clues if you read the descriptions slowly.
It is a medium lenght, easy and friendly game.

Confessing to a Witch, by HeckinRobin
A beautiful incomplete game., April 15, 2022

CONFESSING TO A WITCH

This is a demo, an unfinished game, nevertheless I can guess wich te final result will be. This is a guided game, by now, with wonderful photographs, inmersive music and a intriguing lead way to follow: You are going to declare your love to Juniper, your friend.
The cottage has a huge building inside, and a cat… we will be if we can prepare the recipe, later.

The Box, by Paul Michael Winters

Opening a box like in The Room game., April 15, 2022

THE BOX

I am still playing this game, turn 165, but I want to recommend everyone. It worths a try.
Technically you have to escape from a prision cell. You know by now that I really love simulacionist games where you can interact with all the things around the room listed in descriptions.
It remembers me in some way The Bones of Rosalinda 0_o

On the other hand there is a little problem becouse the text is small for a smartphone. If you don’t enter the story the game itself can be reduced to a mechanical try and error system becouse it uses hyperlinks.

Amazing original threatment of PC, April 9, 2022

I want to talk a bit about this game becouse I tested it.
This is an awesome piece of work. I really loved playing. Since the very beggining, with the long intro I got involved in the story.
Every NPC has his own goals to do. You can talk with someone a lot, can drive into the game with other and your PC are severals, so you can play some parts of the game with different results according with your PC, as in Head over Heels game.

Furthermore, there is a maze and two possibilities to drive through it: Mapping or using your senses depending of which PC you play. I think this is a very smart conception.

So, following Mathbrush guide, I will give it four stars so that author improve this idea aftercomp.

And Then You Come to a House Not Unlike the Previous One, by B.J. Best

A multi game with several different ways, March 27, 2022

I have previously played this game for the comp voting. Now I have played it again to the end.
Some quickly impressions:
It has some of the same vibes that Impossible Bottle. Player travels and interacts between some differents existence in-game plans.
The first third of the game is quite simple ad evoques a tutorial.
The second part is almost difficult if you don't realize that you are inside a game.
Finally, the third part of the game is a bit easier and leads to an autoexplaining ending.

So, the better is it's originality and plot, the story and develop.
The upgrading possibilities are a better descriptions and perhaps some more explanations.

I recommend to play it while it is warm.

A different kind of flavour for a game., February 20, 2022

We are in front of a different flavour for a game. I mean this is a choice options game where the token words are in the descriptions and answers.
The original plot combines perfectly with this kind of game.
This game is awesome in a differnt way. You should try it.

Masquerade, by Kathleen M. Fischer

A romantic parser novella game., February 14, 2022

This game starts very strightforward involving us in the story. The plot is about money, legacy, love and brutality around a masquerade party.
You have to read carefully becouse you have often to answer some y/n questions that will change your life,
As I often write I can tell that this game is about 2 hours long, replayabe, easy, polished with a medium map, several endings.
You can enjoy if you get involved in the plot.

One of the shortest game ever., February 6, 2022

This is a very short game: a ten minutes or so. It has three different endings, it's a easy game, well written, almost simulacionist, replayable untill getting all the endings.
This game reminds me "The phantom of the opera" and has a Fallen London flavour becouse of its overtones.
