These are 10 games that left an impression on me, and that I think about regularly. Some on the list may not be the most widely played, and a couple are still works in progress, but all are personal favorites of mine.

Similarly cozy and delightful, and forces you to slow down (A lot! It's meant to be played over several days).

3. The Archivist and the Revolution
by Autumn Chen

ArloElm says:

Amazing worldbuilding and storytelling. Politics and story that are unfortunately becoming more and more prescient.

4. Lady Thalia and the Case of Clephan
by Emery Joyce and N. Cormier
(2025)
Average member rating: (17 ratings)

ArloElm says:

So far the only Lady Thalia game I've played (I know! I know! I need to get on that), and it impressed me so much that it's on this list. I love the game mechanics, the puzzles that are fun but not too difficult, and the characters.

5. Verses
by Kit Riemer

ArloElm says:

Beautiful and heartbreaking. Incredibly vivid imagery, amazing prose with a lot to say about the horrors of war and the power (and limits) of language.

6. Saint-Sworn
by Lapin Lunaire Games, KA Tan, 30x30
(2025)

ArloElm says:

The art, the story, I love everything about this. It's still a work in progress, and I'm eagerly awaiting the next installments.

A quick little game that has stuck with me. I love the surreal imagery, the music, the vibes. I've replayed it a couple times and it never fails to creep me out.

8. te/ra/to/ma
by Naarel
(2024)
Average member rating: (8 ratings)

ArloElm says:

Everything about this game, the art, the text, the styling, suits the story perfectly. It's a difficult story, told beautifully and effectively.

9. Repeat the Ending
by Drew Cook
(2023)
Average member rating: (33 ratings)

ArloElm says:

The only parser on my list - the story mode makes it incredibly accessible to those like me who aren't big parser players, and is hugely appreciated. Absolutely incredible story, with game mechanics that warp the world around the player character in ways both personal and poignant.

10. Signal Hill
by Crosshollow
(2023)
Average member rating: (6 ratings)

ArloElm says:

Stylish postapocalyptic genderfuck RPG. Really fun worldbuilding and characters, and very well designed. This one is also a work in progress, but the released installments give any potential players plenty to chew on.
