Games where you fix a broken spaceship

Recommendations by MathBrush

A lot of games are about being in a broken spaceship and having to fix it. Here's a list! Some games don't really fit, or only have a few parts involving fixing a ship. I left a lot out where you woke up in a ship and then sabotaged it or explored it without fixing it. If you think of any to add or some that should be taken off, let me know!

A game that would be on here (but I don't want its inclusion spoiling its game page since it's a spoiler for the game) is the rabbit-based game

I'm surprised The Weapon isn't on here! I suppose the spaceship isn't broken per se, but it's definitely what I think of when I hear "space" and "fixing".

I am also deeply curious about the rabbit-based game, which I don't know what is. I'd appreciate a spoiler hint to the title very much!

Oh right, that one would be great. I'll add it.

For the hint, I'm not sure what kind of hint you'd like, so:

More about the engine and game style:
(Spoiler - click to show)It's a beautifully illustrated Twine game.

Age and venue:
(Spoiler - click to show)It was published in IFComp in the last 5 years.

Length of title name and weird features in title name:
(Spoiler - click to show)It's a three-letter word that has a non-ascii character.

Orbital Decay, from this year's Spring Thing, would fit nicely here

I love the subject matter!

Technically, Terminator Chaser and Lux both take place on stationary mining stations, not spaceships in the traditional sense. But they do fit in with the list's theme of fix-the-structure. I think you are safe either way, though.

Ideas:
-Word of the Day: The protagonist is an engineer on a spaceship that is attacked for an unknown reason. After waking up from the incident the protagonist must navigate a powerless ship to fix the communications system to call for help. Along the way are other mechanical challenges.

-Enlisted: It is not the most polished of games, but a substantial chunk of it involves repairing a starship after an attack (that's a common trope, I suppose).

-A Long Way to the Nearest Star could qualify. Your personal ship is damaged, and you make an emergency landing in the hanger of a derelict ship. You explore the derelict ship for resources to fix your own ship so you can leave.

Anyway. Feel free to use this however you like. Just ideas.

Great suggestions! I saw Word of the Day when looking for games but only remembered the mystery, not the repair, so I'll add that. I'll pop on the other two games, too. Thanks!
