About the Story

Taking place in a far away world of barren dustlands and wandering marauders, you are the caretaker of an ancient Hero, one who has returned to you in poor shape. What things will he have to say?

This game is short and sweet, and should take between 5-10 minutes to play.

This is one of my submissions to the 2023 Neo-Twiny Jam! I focused this submission on fitting lots of story within the 500 word limit; my other submission, Otolith, focuses more on exploring branching and choices. Thank you to the hosts of the jam, who inspired so much creativity in all the participants!

You can listen to the soundtrack here!

Whispers of many possible stories at a hero's death, July 31, 2023

Related reviews: less than 15 minutes

This is a well-produced game for the Neo Twiny Jam, written in 500 words or less.

It looks good, with a nice background and well-chosen fonts and color schemes.

The story is about a hero who is dying, and you are the one to comfort him. You can choose what to say.

It branches a lot; I don't think any of the branches reconnect. But 2 of 3 starting options end the game immediately, while a 3rd has more options.

Most of the stories seem more like intros, like a teaser for a larger setting.

What do we do without a Hero…, July 15, 2023

And end of an era is upon us when the last of the Heros returns on the brink of death. Who will be there to protect and care for the weak if no Hero is around? Who will fight for good and against evil marauders if not for a Hero?
The Hero provides an alternative (if you chose the correct path) of becoming the Warrior and Samaritan you look up to yourself…
And maybe, that is enough to survive the change…
