I remember playing IF games on my Commodore 64 as a child and I remember enjoying the Choose Your Own Adventure stories that I often checked out at the public library. The method of storytelling intrigued me but at the time I was too young and impatient to play the games through to completion.
Sometime in 2012, I found a game buried in the Terminal on my Mac. After playing it, I started to search for text-based adventures I could play on my laptop and found a standalone version of Adventure. I don't recall how I stumbled across the Zoom software but over the the course of a week I finished The Dreamhold, downloaded Frotz on my iPhone and catalogued a long list of games that I plan to play. I'm also hoping to locate some of the games I remember from childhood and finally finish them this time around.
Creative writing has been a passion of mine since high school. I'm a computer programmer, ux and web designer by trade.
Now it's 2022. I've been on a long hiatus from playing IF. I'm back looking for games to entertain me over the holidays as I travel and enjoy some downtime. I'm reading Aaron Reed's Creating Interactive Fiction with Inform7.
