As Philo-R-DMD, you will die several times during the adventure. A new clone will be activated to take the place of the one that died, in a different location. The new Philo-R will usually have to retrace some of the old Philo-R's path; hopefully he won't make the same mistakes as his predecessor. Simply complete the mission before expending all six of your clones. Remember... stay alert, and keep your laser handy.
PARANOIA is based on a solo adventure by Sam Shirley in the Jan/Feb 1987 issue of "SpaceGamer/FantasyGamer" magazine, which in turn is based on the Paranoia roleplaying game. It was implemented in C on a Vax 11/780 by Tim Lister, which is how I got hold of it. Just for kicks (and the programming practice) I ported it to Inform. Note for all you IF fans: it's not very interactive. It's not a proper IF game. It beats up the Inform parser in a dark alley. But it will make you appreciate all the other IF games more.

Paranoia is a game converted from a short CYOA magazine article in "Space/Fantasy Gamer - Jan/Feb 1987". As such, there isn't much depth... and you can play through the game easily within 20-30min. But sometimes that's all you really want. This is based on the PARANOIA role-playing game, and as such it thrusts you right into this world with little explanation. If you're not familiar with PARANOIA, it's a little confusing - although the game still has some decent sci-fi writing and atmosphere. Obviously its intended audience is fans of the game. I did enjoy how the Inform port does the dice-rolling, and clone-tracking for you. It's really better experiencing it in this format than jumping around in the article itself.
I initially played this game because it looked like it came from 1977, along with Dungeon (ie. Zork Mainframe). But really it's from an article in the mentioned magazine from 1987 - which happens to be ISSUE 77, so that's why the confusion.

A brief CYOA-style adaptation of a solo adventure (originally printed in SpaceGamer/FantasyGamer magazine) set in the world of the Paranoia role-playing game. Your mission is to cleanse a sector of illegal Christmas activity. Features some randomized combat, but is otherwise basically graph traversal in a dystopian future. May only appeal to people familiar with Paranoia.

IF that centers around holidays by Molly
I'm looking for IF that centers around specific real-world holidays, e.g. Christmas, Hanukkah, Easter, Passover, the Fourth of July, Guy Fawkes Day, Halloween, etc.
Dystopia by dacharya64
I love dystopian fiction, and after playing Square Circle, I decided I had to see if there were other dystopian tales in the IF-verse.
