Baf's Guide

A catalog of all the freeware games produced in the Z-machine format, which is the output of the latter-day IF language Inform and its older counterpart created by the company Infocom, ZIL. The catalog was originally created by Brendon Wyber and Neil James Brown as a plain old list, then converted into a Z-code file and updated by Gunther Schmidl, then converted into HTML and updated by Michael Baum, and then ported to a series of Win98 help files by Paul de Valmency. Has nice little summaries of each game, and while it doesn't represent all, or even most, of the freeware IF produced (since a big chunk of it has been written in non-Z-code languages), it's an interesting guide for those who want to know more about the Z-machine.

Some files were created as references to other IF at the time, or even as educational interactive tutorials. Here they get their own obscure place in the spotlight.
