No way to play?, December 15, 2016

My heart did a little leap when I saw the name of this game, and an even bigger one when I saw the cover because it confirmed it was the game I was hoping it would be.

Back in the 80s I bought Quill for my Acorn Electron, and sometime later found a review for Hex in the magazine Electron User. It was billed as the first commercial game made using Quill.

I never managed to find the game for sale anywhere, and have wanted to play it ever since reading that first review.

Unfortunately no download, website or 'play online' link has been included.

Hi OurJud, if you still want to play Hex, two years later (!) the following link will allow you to play it in a browser: http://bbcmicro.co.uk/game.php?id=1661

Thanks Mr Patient. I've downloaded a 'game' from there recently, but it was just a pile of folders and files with extensions I've never heard of, none of which I could open or make sense of. Needless to say there was no playable game included.

My mistake. It's not very well signposted but details of how to play the game are on there. An emulator is required and also some program to convert the files. I would love to play Hex, but I'm not sure I want to THAT much.
