About the Story

16-year-old Richard goes looking for his father who has failed to return from his archelogical research in an old tomb, only to get involved with demon worshippers and outer-dimensional gods with names like Tzen and Darsuggotha. This game was notable for a fairly advanced interface including (according to the in-game description):
- play via menus or by typing in English sentences
- reconfigurable game environment
- "State of the Art" language understanding
- input line editing
- previous input line recall and editing
- user definable abbreviations and no-fuss sentence completion
- undo last move
- save game status to RAM disk
- "pretend to be working" mode
Also of interest was the prologue, in which the player controlled the last few minutes of Richard's father's life in an effort to leave some clues to aid Richard later in the game.

It is because the story doesn't try to serve complex problems, the author is able to work on the story, and still throw in a new and interesting puzzle or two. It also manages to allow freedom to explore, although tends to be mostly linear in terms of solving problems. (Bozzie)

The location descriptions and atmosphere are pretty good but unfortunately, the game itself isn't really worthy of all the goodies that have been supplied and you can forget the graphics, they really aren't worth bothering with. The problems are few and far between and there are too many red herrings for my liking. (Sue)

Despite its shortcomings, "Demon's Tomb" is a likeable game, one that I feel more players should try. It doesn't overwhelm beginners, and makes an effort to challenge more experienced players as well. (C.E. Forman)
