So far as I can tell, this gory tale, centred around the programmers behind 'DOOM' isn't interactive at all. There's something that looks like a parser, but it doesn't seem to make any difference what you type. The story is amusing enough, more so if you're a fan of 'DOOM'.

To see what the possible commands are, you can search for -> in the text file that comes with the HTML. I had trouble, too, wondering if I needed to do something, and I think the big problem is that you aren't cued when you need to do more than just hit enter. This isn't a trivial problem for the author, and obviously the player needs to pay attention, too, but learned helplessness kicked in for me the first 2 times through.

I think the commands are sensible enough once you see what they are, but that's the danger of a homegrown parser. Even one with a cool web interface, where it can read in a text file.
