My new walkthroughs for April 2021

Recommendations by David Welbourn (Kitchener, Ontario)

On Tuesday April 27, 2021, I published new walkthroughs for the games and stories listed below! Some of these were paid for by my wonderful patrons at Patreon. Please consider supporting me to make even more new walkthroughs for works of interactive fiction at patreon.com/dswxyz.

By the way, I also released a walkthrough for the hat metapuzzle of IF Comp 2011, and the links to that walkthrough can now be found on the pages for the participating games: Cold Iron by Andrew Plotkin, Last Day of Summer by Doug Orleans, The Life (and Deaths) of Doctor M by Michael D. Hilborn, and Playing Games by Kevin Jackson-Mead.

1. The Life (and Deaths) of Doctor M
by Michael D. Hilborn
(2011)
Average member rating: (29 ratings)

David Welbourn says:

You play as Doctor M, or perhaps as his soul, visiting the Everlast Inn, which seems to be a specialized waystation in the afterlife to determine your final fate. In life, Doctor M provided assisted suicide services and was quite the controversial figure. Ultimately, you'll need to decide if M stands for Murder, for Mercy, or for Maybe something else.

2. The Wayward Story
by Ralfe Rich (as Cristmo Ibarra)
(2020)
Average member rating: (9 ratings)

David Welbourn says:

In this fractured story very reminiscent of Photopia, told from multiple viewpoints out of a chronological order and incorporating color-coded fantasy sequences, your choices will determine the fate of a young man named Ben, years after the death of his parents in a tragic car crash.

3. Lazy Gods of Earth, by Stark Springs (2002)
David Welbourn says:

You play as some guy in a black swimsuit. You're visiting your friend James and his girlfriend Karen at his West Coast beach house, but after a week of doing nothing, you're getting bored. But then you accidentally destroy the world, and it's up to you as the last mortal to convince some lazy gods to restore everything back to the way it was.

In this short game, you play as a gentleman vampire traveling to Paris via the Orient Express. You emerge from your coffin and soon learn that the train is stuck in a snow drift and behind schedule. Although help is on the way, your deep thirst can't wait. You must drink blood as soon as possible.

7. Interstellar Pizza Brigade, by Peregrine Wade (2016)
Average member rating: (1 rating)
David Welbourn says:

In this small game, you play as Anne Walken, a bored Emergencies Specialist on the Centennial Crow. Your starship's new mission is to deliver a pizza to Earth in the year 1990. Sounds easy enough, and if there are any problems, you'll deal with them.
