Please explain the title of this game!!, January 13, 2023
by hg

I remember playing this game decades ago, and loving it! I don't recall too many details at this point, but as a word lover I found it fantastic, some sections more than others.

I've never understood the wordplay in the title, though I'm sure there is some involved. Can anybody explain the joke in the title, please? I would be forever grateful to you for elucidating something that has vexed me for years!

The title doesn't have much to do directly with the content of the game, but it illustrates a pun that does connect to the wordplay theme. If you "can't make head or tail" of something, it means you don't understand it because it's confusing or unclear. The cover art illustrates this with a cow that has a tail at each end; they literally can't make head or tail of it. I'm a bit unsure of why they picked the names Nord and Bert, but it sounds close to Norbert, which is a real name. Hope this helped!

Thanks. I feel like Nord is such a curious name that it must have some significance, and the fact that Nord, Bert, head (not heads), and tail (not tails) all have 4 letters also may hint at some wordplay. I'll post back here if I figure anything out!
