About the Story

The Donner Party were a group of about 90 men, women and children who tried traveling to their new homes in California by an unfamiliar route across the Salt Lake Desert of Utah and the Sierra Nevada Mountains but met with enough misfortunes and suffering to kill half the group and leave the remainder scarred for the rest of their lives...

I have heard of the Donner Party. A new theory was in the news recently. What a tough time and a tough way to travel. But the west coast of North America beckoned settlers, a land of wealth and opportunity.

This is a well told story. How much is fiction? It is hard to say. The author has melded many of the facts on record with a well thought out narrative.

The Donner Party experienced hardship beyond that any of us could endure. Unspeakable things took place. The narrative covers those and more. In today's easy times, some of the narrative is hard for us to read and imagine being in that situation. Some of the material may be intense for young readers. Possibly PG-13?

The game was VERY forgiving and easy navigate due the choice based system. I "won" the game the first time through. It is somewhat short only taking a few minutes to go from beginning to end.

Choose wisely....
