That's one long puzzle chain!, January 27, 2024

About two years ago, I beta-tested the first half or so of this game. Things got busy, and I only just now got around to playing through the latter half.
In retrospect, I was quite impressed by the large array of puzzles through which one must muddle to finally reach their goal, many of which are charmingly creative in concept.
This is a great game which, for me, was taken down a slight notch by some mechanical issues. One bug was particularly grieving, where an object that I was finished with still stayed like a ghost in my inventory, and prevented my PC from implicitly taking things out of her inventory bag. (Happily I found a way to get rid of it. Also, I contacted the author with my transcripts and there is a good chance this may be fixed.) I also noted a few instances of what we might call guess-the-verb(-phrasing) problems, where attempts that clearly intended the same thing were met with default messages that could be misleading. Certain portions of under-implementation also, in my case, discouraged further investigation of what would turn out to be the important clue or solution.
But even though the negatives take more words to explain in a review, I don't for a moment suggest that you should pass this one by if you like a good old-school puzzle game. It's a good one, with a lot of potential for satisfying moments. You just might need to be okay with relying on some hints.
