I really enjoyed this game, and plan to check out more of Andrew Schultz’s other work after the comp is over (as I see he has written many similar games of varying lengths).
I enjoyed the general mixture of absurdity and more serious themes. It felt like it both had something to say and didn’t take itself too seriously, and it balanced those two sides really well.
The wordplay was fun, although I did get stuck for awhile because I have never heard the word Chez before and didn’t know how it was pronounced (I had several guesses and they were all wrong).
The illustrations were fun and contributed a lot to the game’s atmosphere.
There were a couple of places where keywords were not highlighted when I would have expected them to be (particularly in the room titles, but I think there was also one time where a word pair wasn’t highlighted in the room description, although I unfortunately don’t remember where), but otherwise it was mechanically well-implemented.
