About the Story

During the night of the last new moon, Locus the blacksmith disappeared. Red-Eye, the town drunk, says that he saw Locus lifted into the sky! Of course, hearty laughter greeted this crazy talk.

You searched the blacksmith's shop and uncovered a map with a cryptic note: "Bring the gates here so that my pretty will be protected!"

Following the directions shown on the map, you find the burnt ruins of a castle keep. Searching the ruins you find the smoldering body of poor Locus. Nearby you find a spiral staircase descending into the bowels of the earth...

This adventure is part of the Eamon universe. Like all Eamon adventures, it is an RPG-style game, mostly using a two-word parser. Because Eamon is a modular system, you may bring a character and equipment from other adventures into this one.

Editorial Reviews

EamonAG

This is in many ways a mundane version 4 adventure. You must type the full command and the full name, and passages are not well marked at all. On the other hand, there are a lot of interesting effects and puzzles that are often pretty funny. There are two or three no-warning 'Gotcha!' death traps, so it would be a good idea for you to save the game fairly often.
