About the Story

The Martian Directive is a parser-based sci-fi mystery and survival adventure about answering a distress call that was never supposed to be heard.

The Aurora Research Complex on Mars goes silent without warning. No comms. No beacons. No heat signature where there should be life. Under mission callsign SENTRY, you arrive to find a facility that looks abandoned in a hurry, with systems failing in the wrong order and logs that do not agree with each other. Your support craft, Peregrine, can only offer limited help from orbit. On the surface, you are on your own.

What begins as a search-and-rescue turns into an investigation of a second facility that officially does not exist: Sublevel Delta, an undocumented underground annex buried beneath the station’s clean public face. As you restore power, reroute air, force open sealed sectors, and piece together fragments of audio, reports, and corrupted telemetry, a pattern emerges. Someone planned for this. Someone planned for you.

Expect methodical exploration, environmental problem-solving, and escalating high-stakes sequences where time, oxygen, and power matter. The deeper you push, the more the mission shifts from “find survivors” to a harder question: what do you do when the truth is the thing that put everyone in danger?
