I write and publish classic parser-driven interactive fiction under the Unseen Lands label, a growing library of story-first text adventures built to be played on the web.

By trade, I’m an IT administrator with a background in IT infrastructure and telephony. I’ve always been the kind of person who likes systems, signals, and solving problems with a mix of logic and stubborn persistence. I’m also an Extra Class licensed Amateur Radio operator, which probably explains why I’m drawn to stories that involve exploration, unknowns, equipment that matters, and the quiet satisfaction of getting something working when it shouldn’t.

Unseen Lands isn’t one single setting, it’s a shelf of different worlds. Some stories lean into dark fantasy and folk-horror atmosphere. Others go full science-fiction survival, isolation, and systems failing at the worst time. Some are straight mystery, some are thriller, some are slow-burn exploration. What they share is a consistent style of play: parser interaction, deliberate pacing, and a preference for discovery over flashy presentation. First visits are described with more depth, repeat visits move faster, and puzzles are built to reward paying attention.

Most of these titles run on a proprietary engine I built specifically for long-form interactive fiction. That engine stays independent so each game can be its own thing without breaking the others, and so I can keep improving the underlying mechanics as the library grows.

Outside of writing and building games, my hobbies drift toward anything hands-on and technical: ham radio, computer gaming, and RC vehicles. My wife and I also like getting out when we can, doing distillery tours, small trips, and the kind of travel that’s more about interesting stops than big itineraries.

If you enjoy mapping, investigating, reading clues carefully, and trying ideas until the world clicks, you’ll probably feel at home here.

You can find the full catalog and play online at UnseenLands.com.
