Great atmospheric retro game, March 6, 2023I have tried to beat this retro style Glulxe text adventure several times but got away from it, despite the highly atmospheric graphics and music. However, I recently completed the bigger ambitious "Andromeda Awakening - The Final Cut", also by Marco Innocenti, which Andromeda 1983 is based upon, though there are several differences in the puzzles. Still, a puzzle which prevented me from completing the game earlier, could be solved quite similar to how it was solved in "Awakening". Sometimes when I have been stuck, I am sometimes disappointed but this was not the case here. The game has only few but brilliant puzzles, both some easy ones and some tough ones. Nice retro atmosphere, February 18, 2023by Victor Gijsbers (The Netherlands) I'm not particularly given to nostalgia for old school adventure games, but ANDROMEDA 1983 gets it right. The graphics and music are fitting and fun, and the minimal descriptions are used to great effect, with 'talk to stranger' in the first room setting the tone brilliantly. If anything, I would have liked to see more of this slightly over-the-top logic. Was this review helpful to you? Yes No Remove vote | Add a comment

Amazing setting for an exciting story and a bunch of not-so-easy puzzles, December 8, 2015by Gyrev Amazing setting for an exciting story and a bunch of not-so-easy puzzles. It gave me fun and kept me busy more than I expected. The vintage 8bit style graphics add a lot of atmosphere, but also the texts are brilliant. Was this review helpful to you?
