About the Story

The Star Astraea is a large-scale science fiction parser adventure set aboard a colony ship in deep space.

Most of the Astraea is asleep. Thousands of colonists remain in cryo while only a thin working layer of crew stays awake to keep the ship moving, its systems stable, and its long voyage on track. You were not supposed to be one of them. Pulled out of cryo early, you awaken in Ring 1 recovery weak, disoriented, and already behind a problem serious enough to reach into the sleeping ranks and bring you back before your time.

You play as Daniel Mercer, a seasoned systems man with decades of hard-earned experience and a direct hand in the design of many of the ship’s critical systems. He knows the Astraea better than most of the people running it, and he knows something else too: when a job looks wrong, the official explanation usually is too.

What begins as a technical wake-up call turns into a deep investigation across a massive interstellar liner built on procedure, certification, restricted access, and layers of quiet trust. Explore the ship, uncover failures that do not add up, trace signs of sabotage and buried corporate pressure, and decide how far to push when the truth threatens far more than one broken system.

The Star Astraea is a story-driven parser game focused on exploration, investigation, atmosphere, and layered science fiction worldbuilding. It is designed as a long-form interactive fiction experience with a grounded tone, strong procedural realism, and a mystery that grows larger the deeper into the ship you go.
