Interesting five minute story, curious about other people's interpretation., December 17, 2025*

I found this interesting and I interpret this game as horror / science fiction but I am not fully certain about my interpretation.

This game was written with Adrift 5 and the author had obviously very little experience with this tool. It is not programmed very well but the game is so "easy" that it may not hinder your progress.

In case it does, here is a brief walkthrough:
(note that in Frankendrift you may have to click on the input field before you can hit space which makes the game progress)

(Spoiler - click to show)up, up, n, n, n, crawl

I rate this game as a very short game where the bugs do not play a big role as I was able to guess the necessary commands anyway. The bugs may even add to the confusion felt by the player character.

I am very curious about other people's interpretation of this game. For now I will leave my theories out but I would love to hear other people's opinions.

Thank you for the hint about (Spoiler - click to show)crawling (I was getting confused by the response that the only way is (Spoiler - click to show)nowhere)!

My interpretation so far is:

- The player character is (Spoiler - click to show)an elderly man with memory loss, waking up in a hospital bed;

- The voice is from (Spoiler - click to show)a member of the hospital staff, accompanied by the man's daughter who eventually adds her own encouragement;

- They're (Spoiler - click to show)evacuating the hospital due to an emergency (specifically an (Spoiler - click to show)alien invasion??)

- Unfortunately, (Spoiler - click to show)the aliens come into the room, and kill the daughter... then (Spoiler - click to show)the man also falls and dies.

But I'm not sure what to make of these events:

- Why was the (Spoiler - click to show)alien speaking English, and why did it seemingly (Spoiler - click to show)spare the man? Did the (Spoiler - click to show)bright light play a role?

- The ending seems to imply (Spoiler - click to show)that this is happening over and over; why? Is it (Spoiler - click to show)all happening in the man's mind?

- What's up with the way (Spoiler - click to show)the man always falls directly onto the bed, even after walking away from it? (This might support a (Spoiler - click to show)dream-related interpretation?...)

I do wish there had been just a few more responses/descriptions to flesh out the protagonist's perception of the world!
