About the Story

You're a successful computer programmer, enjoying his fifteenth year of marriage to a wonderful woman. You've got a six year old daughter, a great house, and a good life. You've also worked pretty hard to get there. So when you got the opportunity to take a vacation for two weeks, you pounced on it. You announced your plans to your surprised wife two days ago: a secluded lakeshore cabin, away from the hectic rural life you usually lead.

I enjoyed this game, despite its frustrating bugs. I like an old fashioned treasure hunt, which is what this is; also, it seemed to be earnestly good-spirited, a happy game about a happy guy preparing for a happy trip with his happy wife. I probably shouldn't put it that way, as it makes it sound mawkish, and it isn't.

There's a lot of stuff in here about how much I love my wife and kid, but in general I'm told this and not shown it. Truly sweet moments are rare, or somewhat clumsily handled. [...] It was nice that there were a couple puzzles that developed over the course of the game, instead of all tasks being present on the list at the beginning.
