Hampton Manor has had a dark history. Murder, suicide and disappearances have gone on for almost 100 years. Even as an author of horror, you feel a little uneasy. You have had nightmares about the place and some of them seemed a little too real. The last family to have lived there disappeared a little over seven years ago. Since then the manor has remained empty. Your publicist, Charlie, was the last person to have been in the manor. He was checking the place out in advance of your arrival. The doctors are still trying to help him.
Spend the night in a haunted mansion. Good plot (if you can find it) and atmosphere (except for some traditionally eclectic dungeon areas), but somewhat spoiled by clumsy prose, a weak two-word parser, and some rather obscure puzzles. Contains a maze, but there's a two-part map of it in the game.

The Intro. to Hampton Manor tells of its dark history. Murder, suicide and mysterious disappearances have continued for almost 100 years. Even as an author of horror stories (read the manuscript you are carrying to get an idea of your literary capabilities in that field) you feel a bit uneasy at the thought of living here for the next month, trying to finish your latest book on time. [...] The strong plot, interesting locations and a vague feeling of impending disaster lifted this game out of the ordinary for me.
