About the Story
Who really killed Hamlet's dad? Can the Prince ever 'get' Gertrude, or is that just wrong? What does Richard III want with a horse anyway? And where did the gravedigger get that gorgeous pink dress? Avenge your father, defeat your evil uncle, and ascend the throne of Denmark in this faithful adapatation of Shakespeare's seminal work.
Anyway, this game was fun to play, fiendish puzzle aside. The environment was described well and, since I didn't notice there was a save feature until late in the festivities (it's implemented with cookies), I replayed from the start so many times I could probably navigate the whole map blindfolded if I were dropped there in real life. The humor was engaging, and the easy puzzles you start out with make you feel triumphant, hooking you in and making you want to finish. It's well worth playing.

This game is written in Robin Johnson's own engine, one of the best home-brew parsers available. It is a Scott Adams-style puzzlefest, with smaller room descriptions, lots of places to explore, and 0-1 items in each location.
Some of the puzzles are quite hard; this game is for fans of old-school design.
The game mashes up several Shakespeare plays, primarily Hamlet, but also Othello, Macbeth, Richard III, the Henry IV/Falstaff plays, Romeo and Juliet, and so on
Overall, this is one of the best theatre-based games available, and one of the best old-school games.
