During the endgame, it's implied that the PC had to leave the lockpick behind while opening a door in that area, rather than throwing it. Jim Kaplan, June 12, 2013 - Reply I'm aware that it's a lie, it just doesn't strike me as being believable enough to fool the sharp and methodical interrogator. Christina Nordlander, June 12, 2013 - Reply Ah, I misunderstood. You make a good point. Danielle, June 8, 2013 - Reply For me, the beginning "scene" of this game IS a masterpiece. (Spoiler - click to show)I walk by the alley. NO, TRY AGAIN. Oh, it's *that* kinda game!! Again, the reveal and the way it's handled is unique and I don't think another medium could do as well. Super memorable. That said, I remember the puzzles being too difficult for me to handle without a walkthrough, which has kept me from replaying this game. I do think everyone should try it though, just for the initial reveal. Jim Kaplan, June 9, 2013 - Reply I agree, the first twist is a good one. It just occurred to me that I would have liked a setup like Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, the forgotten noir pastiche with Robert Downey Jr. and Val Kilmer. Downey's character narrates the story but is also constantly going off on tangents and correcting himself as well as offering a running commentary on his own believability. If the PC here showed a bit more attitude in successive iterations of the same scenario, that would have been just great - it's done a little in the early stages of the game, but not enough. |
