About the Story

A mysterious illness, which people have dubbed "The Red Death", is ravaging the land of Hecate, killing mainly young children and the old and sick. Efforts to find a cure for this contagion have so far failed and King Kelson is getting desperate for a solution.

Magor, the court sorcerer, searches his vast archives for a remedy and eventually reports that a similar illness had swept the dukedom of Covidia a couple of centuries ago and that a wise woman, near a village called Gruchy, had discovered a cure, which she recorded in a book called "The Book of Jax".

You are tasked by King Kelson to travel to Covidia to seek out this "Book of Jax" and bring it back so that anyone afflicted by "The Red Death" can be cured.
