About the Story

In this game about Greek myths, you play as several characters. In the prologue and endgame, you are a hero who wants to make his destiny with the Golden Bowl of Artemis. In the main game, you are a modern-day cat owner searching for five pages of notes. Each page describes a different myth which you enact as Theseus, Celides, Daedalus, Polyeidus, or Hermes when you take their page.

Baf's Guide

This game spins around two tightly entwined themes - mythology of Ancient Greece, and cats. It is done very solidly, with well-constructed puzzles, and an interesting plot. Don't get irritated by the fact that this review's tone isn't as expressive as it might have been - MythTale is definitely worth playing; the thing is, I just prefer dogs;).

Overall, despite the fact that it has some fun moments, MythTale is pretty much hit or (must... resist... cheesy... pun...) miss.

SPAG
None of this prevents MythTale from being well worth playing, but it isn't going to last as long as the myths it refers to.

A greek mythology/modern life game, August 1, 2017

This was an entertaining game from IFcomp 2002.

You explore your house, looking for your notes. As you find notes, you have a sort of flashback or dream of a greek mythological figure.

I enjoyed these vignettes more than the house filled with greek mythology-named cats.

The game was a bit underclued, though, and it was hard to get invested.
