Polesia, 1941, under German occupation. You are Mikhas, a young feldsher — the only healer for miles now that the old doctor has been taken. One night a knock: on the threshold stands a wounded Soviet pilot, shot down over the marshes. Treat him and you risk your wife and the whole village; turn him away and you condemn one of your own. There is no clean way out. That night your war begins — the war of a man who only wanted to remain a healer.
A choice-based interactive fiction in the tradition of unflinching war prose (Vasil Bykaŭ): a small man, impossible decisions, and consequences that catch up chapters later. No right answers — only a price, and you won't always be the one who pays it. Scarce supplies, a village that remembers what you did, two forces — the forest and the commandant's office — pulling at you, and choices that carry from chapter to chapter into several divergent endings.
Five chapters. Free, offline, no ads or in-app purchases. Part one of a trilogy. Fully playable in English, Russian (the original) and Belarusian.
Note: the story, choices and prose are written by hand; the illustrations are AI-assisted, curated into a single painterly style.
