In the year 3941 A.D the people of Velos in the Yama Nebula faced a critical situation. Their great suns; Cales and Dondèro are slowly preparing to go supernova which will devastate the agriculture of the planet and likely bring a third ice age.
Preparing, for this the scientific minds of the Cosmo Confederation design blueprints of the Xeslovs device that will renew the suns into their previous state for another 5,000,000,000 years. Having just finished the construction of the device on board the USS Arvaid II they head triumphantly back to Velos.
You work aboard the starship as mid-20 year old loser George Winstein whos job is sneeze guard at the food court salad bar...yeah, stay in school kids!
Along with your trusty friend Ken Robinson you'll explore strange new planets, jump aboard an ailen vessel and deal with sleazy spaceship salesmen. The entire fate of the Velos and hell! the nebula is up to you!
I was just poking through this a bit. I've not been enamored with Quest games, but I was watching a TV program at the same time and Quest with its all-clickable interface was a conducive multitask. I got distracted and suddenly BOOM the game ended! There's a real time timer! Well then!
I'm going to give this another play. The bit of prose I encountered at the beginning was amusing. The opening seems beat-for-beat SPACE QUEST, but there's a companion! This intrigued me enough to want to play again when I have time to concentrate on it, and I'll try to come up with a rating.
Only nitpicks - Quite a few spelling errors for the few minutes I played (rogue "ailens", "refreash"). The game kind of drops you in cold with no intro - although that may be Quest as it told me my surroundings before displaying the first passage of text.
