1. The Wand
by Arthur DiBianca
(2017)
Average member rating: (65 ratings)

Unearthly says:

Explore an ancient and puzzle-filled castle, steadily figuring out how to use a mysterious magic wand! (Very beginner-friendly, you don't need to worry about doing anything other than adjust your wand and point it at things!)

2. Counterfeit Monkey
by Emily Short
(2012)
Average member rating: (290 ratings)

Unearthly says:

As well as everything Emily Short has made, but this one's my favourite. Explore an island and solve puzzles using a tool that lets you remove letters from objects.

3. The Little Match Girl, by Hans Christian Andersen
by Ryan Veeder
(2021)
Average member rating: (32 ratings)

Unearthly says:

An alternate take on the classic fairytale in which the Girl discovers she can travel through space and time by looking into any fire. (Also recommending the rest of the series, in which she becomes a time-travelling vampire-slaying bounter hunter)

4. All Things Devours, by half sick of shadows (2004)
Average member rating: (96 ratings)
Unearthly says:

When your prototype time machine is seized, you realise how dangerous it could be in the wrong hands. On the plus side, you know how powerful it could be in your hands, so long as you don't cause any paradoxes. (An incredibly cool but very tricky puzzle in which you have to work with your past selves while also ensuring none of them notice any inconsistencies in the timeline)

5. The Impossible Bottle
by Linus Ã…kesson
(2020)
Average member rating: (94 ratings)

Unearthly says:

A young girl is tasked with cleaning up the house before some visitors arrive, and I don't think I want to spoil the premise any more than that. A very comfy puzzle game!

6. Never Gives Up Her Dead
by Mathbrush
(2023)
Average member rating: (31 ratings)

Unearthly says:

A huge adventure in which a dozen interdimensional portals appear on your spaceship and you have to journey through each of them to figure out what's going on. One of my absolute faves.

7. A Beauty Cold and Austere
by Mike Spivey
(2017)
Average member rating: (69 ratings)

Unearthly says:

Oh no, it's the day before your maths exam and you haven't studied at all! Luckily, you find yourself in a strange dream where you steadily uncover the fundamentals. (For obvious reasons, I like this one.)

8. Superluminal Vagrant Twin
by C.E.J. Pacian
(2016)
Average member rating: (149 ratings)

Unearthly says:

I don't have too much to say about this one, but it's a very fun and accessible space sim!

9. Hadean Lands
by Andrew Plotkin
(2014)
Average member rating: (69 ratings)

Unearthly says:

One of the very few parser games that requires payment, but absolutely worth it. Delve into a complex system of alchemy to figure out what went wrong with your spaceship.

10. Type Help
by William Rous
(2025)
