Vox is an AI-driven escape room where you play as a disembodied voice speaking to a character trapped in a room. The character doesn't know what you are. They can hear you but can't see you, and they have no idea they're in a game.
Each character is a fully realized person with a specific backstory, personality, knowledge boundaries, and emotional state. You guide them through conversation — suggesting actions, asking questions, building trust — to solve puzzles and escape together. There are no commands, no parser verbs, no dialogue trees. You just talk, and the character responds based on who they are.
Every playthrough is genuinely different. The characters react to what you actually say, remember what's happened, build or lose trust based on how you treat them, and can refuse, get suspicious, or shut down if you push too hard.
Two hand-crafted scenarios are free to play (a Victorian study and a sci-fi maintenance station). Generated scenarios span multiple genres — noir, fantasy, horror, monastery, space western, gothic, magic realism, and more — with procedurally created rooms, characters, and puzzles. Puzzle types include mechanical locks, evidence discovery, persuasion, deduction, sequence rituals, multi-stage escapes, and assembly challenges.
