Very cool world-building. Very cool use of voice, of non-audible communication. If you're looking for something that is innovative, mature futurism, try this out.

One thing I absolutely loved: (Spoiler - click to show) What Je'lon says is beautiful. "The brightest light cannot be extinguished, and hope is the brightest light of all. I am sure you will come across many situations that make your light dim, but you must remember all of the people you have helped."
Poetry.

One thing I found darkly funny: (Spoiler - click to show) The concept of a being of pure energy and light nevertheless being tasked with being a security guard is both fascinating and depressing, but totally consistent.
Nothing echos on the present like art. What a world!

One thing I'd suggest: (Spoiler - click to show)We don't have a lot of language to describe orbital locations (yet) but I feel like immersion could be added with some technobabble. Or maybe that would distract. Don't mind me.

One thing that made me dance (Spoiler - click to show)Dance on Brav's grave, that is. I was invested!

One thing that really really made me think (Spoiler - click to show) Whether to lie to the UC. In the end, my last choice was driven by a desire to have Api exist as a recognized, sentient being, even in my own head canon. Even if they had to stand trial for Brav's murder, at least that would be society recognizing them as an individual, and that's important. In fact, I wondered if Api would WANT to be put on trial, because you don't put a toaster on trial, you only put people on trial.
