Disclaimer: I was a beta tester on this game.
This game was written, in just five days, for the Iron ChIF competition. It took me longer than five days to beat it. In fact, I'm not entirely sure I have beat it completely...
It's a hard, mind-bending puzzlefest which is clearly inspired by Blue Prince, but without the randomness; in a way, it's what I wish Blue Prince could have been for me. I think it's pretty much my favorite kind of game, and it's also my favorite game of that kind in years! The game is definitely "easy on the plot", but the little that is there in the way of lore and backstory is intriguing - as is often the case with Veeder's games.
The main conceit is "a scroll that alters the world around you" (which was the prompt for the competition), the titular papyrus, but the secondary conceit is "an (Spoiler - click to show)altar that scrolls the world around you", which opens up so many layers of puzzles.
I recommend reading at least one of the forum posts about the development of the game to gain some insight into some things, and also this blog post.
