Not interactive fiction, May 29, 2019

It's tough to know how to rate this, because it's interactive but it's definitely not intended to be fiction or a game. I think it's best described as a kind of teaching device.
It does a good job getting its message across, but if you're looking for a story, this isn't it.

That is certainly one of the reactions I expected. But I don't agree on that definition of game, fiction and story. It seems to be dependent on length. It is bare and minimal, but it is a game in the broadest sense. It has minimal story, but it has. So it classifies as interactive fiction. The broken expectation of something else than this bare minimal is part of the message.

I definitely understand what you're saying. To clarify, I kind of felt like it was non-fiction, which isn't a criticism (it's actually neat).

Rereading it, my review comes across a lot harsher than I intended. The fact that it didn't feel like a game or a story to me was just an observation, it wasn't meant to be dismissive.
