A youth, in once-fine raiment gone to rags, crouches in a dirty alley and from their threadbare coat pulls out a lustrous, half-torn vellum page…
A narrative puzzle in which you talk back and forth with a page torn from a magical book. Created for NeoTwinyJam2026.
Word count: 319 (including hints and title but not credits)
Warning! The puzzle aspect turned out fairly challenging but it was not designed as a brain-cruncher. The in-game hints are helpful and not spoilers If you try stuff and muddle through, you're playing in the spirit it was created.
If you find sentences that you think should have had a response and didn't, please email me at [email protected] and let me know!
Entrant - Neo-Twiny Jam 2026
It's definitely unique idea. You get a passage of words. You can click on the words to form a short phrase, and the game gives you a response based on what you picked.
Unfortunately, this game is a script and not a human, so it is limited specifically to what its creator taught it. I played for a bit, and KEEP ME SAFE was literally the only phrase I could come up with which got me a response. Eventually, I went to the game's GitHub page to see the other phrases which had been coded in, but I do think there is no shortage of valid sentences and phrases which the game didn't account for.
Still, it's an interesting and creative toy, if nothing else, and the hints page also advises you to treat this as a toy rather than a puzzle with a fixed answer. Give it a shot, and try to tinker.
