Review

For the Birbs, July 12, 2025

Honestly, the writing in this game is really rough. This should have necessitated a lower rating. But... I noticed that this game was also entered into the REALLY BOOGALOO BAD IF jam, where the point is to make a bad IF game. Well... mission accomplished, I guess. Full marks. (sigh)

Anyways, you're invited to take part in an experiment, where you can be a bird for some time. Just sign here, here and here. Still, you have the option to go along with it and be free as a bird, or chicken out. You get a few choices in the game, but only one choice really affects the ending.

The visual design is simple, although there are some photos to go along with it. It shouldn't take too long to finish the story even if you're trying out all the options. Just make sure that you aren't turned into a birbbrain at the end of it.

Hey, dev here.

Can you please elaborate on rough writing? is it mistakes or not enough information to understand the setting? I am not a native speaker.

Thank you for playing and the review, i enjoyed the puns :)

Mostly minor writing issues here and there, but nothing which impacts readability severely.

Example:

(Spoiler - click to show) It was obvious when the transformation back happened: the dna didn’t arrange similar to the original. The assistant waves last document to sign:

“Can’t blame ’em, not sure I’d wanna be back either!”

Perhaps I hurried with this. Is there a safer option than a bird?..”

'DNA' should be written in all capital letters. I'd rephrase it as 'the DNA didn't return to its original arrangement'. Also, the second choice should have opening quotes and doesn't need the two dots at the back.

Anyway, like I said, nothing which made the game unreadable. It was still an amusing read.
