About the Story

The Crosswick Monster, Cryptid Hunter Ohio, Adventure One

Something came out of the water near Crosswick Creek in 1882. The locals saw it. Some of them followed it. Not all of them came back the same.

The Crosswick Monster is a solo card and dice roleplaying game set in the landscape of real Ohio history and genuine local legend. You will draw cards, roll dice, make choices that branch and accumulate.

This is not a game about jump scares. It is a game about what a community carries forward, what gets buried, and what keeps surfacing no matter how many times it is pushed back down. The creature is real. What it means is up to you.

What you need: a standard deck of playing cards, one D8, one D6, a notebook, something to write with.

Playtime: 2 to 4 hours per session. Designed for multiple sessions.

Content: rural Ohio, historical fiction, folklore, wilderness, community secrecy, mild body horror, animal death (implied).
