About the Story

November, 1997.

An overnight train carries Arun home for his father's funeral. It is a journey he has avoided for eleven years.

Rain streaks the windows. The other passengers are asleep. An elderly woman sits on the berth opposite, watching the darkness outside.

She seems to know Arun.

He is certain he has never seen her before.

A short, atmospheric ghost story about memory, grief, and the things that follow us home.
