'The _________ Cassandra was commissioned by the Jane Austen House Museum, as part of their outreach programme for young creative writers. It was authored by Rob Sherman in collaboration with Palma Studio.
It's based on several of Austen's lesser-known teenage writings, but in particular 'The Beautifull Cassandra', a story of about 400 words that is surprisingly anarchic and irreverent: a mischievous experiment that stretches the limits of narrative logic, in which the main character is named after Austen's sister with the express objective of annoying her.
In the game, you are a houseguest of the Austen's on a rainy afternoon. All the male Austen children have gone on a trip with their father, while you are left at home with (a rather grumpy and bossy) Jane. To pass the time, she proposes that you make up a story together; though, of course, she wants to be the one in charge...
