About the Story

Stop Me If You’ve Heard This One Before is my first ever Twine. It is an interactive horror and mostly true memoir. It is about the mind-frame of someone living with an eating disorder, without ever explicitly focusing on the restricting aspect. It was my attempt to show you the violence you can enact and the hatred you can feel for yourself — but how they’re a violence and a hate that is comforting, at times.

Free Indie Games listed Stop Me as part of the <A HREF="2013: Horror list. http://www.freeindiegam.es/2013/12/best-of-2013-horror/">Best of 2013: Horror</A>

Editorial Reviews

Rock Paper Shotgun
Rock, Paper, Shotgun discusses how Stop Me If You've Heard This One Before uses body horror to talk about the way society treats women's bodies as objects. "Magician’s tricks, their effortless manipulation of the female body as a metaphor for how our culture divides women’s bodies into zones and forces them to defy reality–a virginal slut, professional yet feminine, nurturing yet weak. Sawed in half. Drowning."
