About the Story

Art is a conversation. Will you have this one with me?

I Love You, Player is a short manifesto about my viewpoint on art as a whole and why I even create video games in the first place. This is a very personal work, and I've never written a manifesto before, so please forgive any wonky writing in this!

CONTENT WARNING: This manifesto contains mentions of real events of child abuse and suicidal thoughts and actions that have happened to me, which are important to my point.

This serves as both an entry to the Manifesto Jam 2026 and my second entry to the Neo-Twiny 2026 Jam! I saw the Manifesto Jam on Bluesky and knew I wanted to enter, because this is something I've been wanting to write my thoughts on in a video game form for a while. Check out my script for how I counted the words for this one! (and please have mercy if some places are saying it's too long, both my Google Doc and wordcounter.net say 499)
