This sounds exceedingly brief but there's a lot of depth to those scenes. The salon has various people to talk to and other interactions around her house to take (on a limited time-table). Many options are based on character qualities, mostly renown and references to the previous Fate-locked story The Soul Trade. But beyond the exposition and occasional rewards, your character is also staking out a position, with their actions in support or opposition of the trade in souls. This position continues throughout the story, and while you can shift it, it only moves slowly, and like the Overton window it can cut off options that are strongly opposed to the position you've been taking.
