It's giving tooth-aching sweet, April 10, 2023
by Shadowcutie (USA)

The Wayhaven Chronicles continues to deliver on the supernatural, sweet, and steamy. The writing, romance, characters are all as wonderful as previous books. Book 3 has lots of sweet and steamy scenes and I could not be happier, they're the star of the show, completely outshining the main plot which to me felt a little lackluster.

Personally, there is a certain slow burn romance that is turning out to be a little too angsty for me to love it completely, it's kind of heavyhanded in the "I like you but we can't" department. The main issue I have however is that there is a lot of side characters, and there's seemingly always more introduced (and quickly forgotten). There were also a few times when despite everything going well the characters acted as if my character was on the brink of death, but I'm here for the theatrics so play on!

Upon a few replays, Book 3 is the weakest of the series so far--while the romance is stellar, no surprise there, it is where all the attention has gone it appears. The main plot surrounding the 'antagonist' felt like a whole lot of nothing, a minor annoyance rather than a big threat. The final mission felt very rushed and deserved a lot more.

Stumbled upon the Book 3 review without playing the previous games?

If you're not a fan of plot armor, 'chosen one's, 'perfect at everything (except for when the plot says so)', or dramatic characters then the series might not be for you. TWC leans heavily towards more story than game, and so far there are few (if any) consequences for messing up, which makes it a good stress-free play.

Hit or Miss, April 8, 2023

Note: So as not to give out spoilers for the game, I will only write a short review and edit it after a few weeks have passed from the release date.

For everyone who played and replayed the demo, waiting for the full game release, the anticipation and expectation's for the upcoming game, were set very high compared to what was delivered. It started out very well, with the level of interaction and impactful choice variety, comparable to Wayhaven Chronicles Book 2, yet, as one dives deeper and deeper into the playthrough, the story starts getting more and more linear. Getting choice variety without any of them being impactful to the story was not something I was expecting. It felt as if no matter what choices you made, you were being pushed towards a rigid direction.
Then you have the BIG pacing issues. The conflict parts and action scenes of the story just felt so RUSHED. Not to mention the endings! (I'll elaborate more on this later). The villains' huge potential was wasted.

On the things that I liked on the book:
Romance: Not a surprise really. It is the main selling point of the game(s) after all. A's route is the first one I tried, liked and suffered from. Since I've tried the other routes too, and don't want to spoil. I'll only say this: there are sweet, romantic, angsty and nsfw choices galore. Enjoy yourselves with your RO(s).
Parent-Child relationship: From the very first book, we can choose the relationship MC has with their absent mother, their feelings on it and if they want to make an effort to mend or not their relationship.
The villains: I loved the villains' entrance yet I despise the way they were handled in the end.

I will stop here the review, and edit it later, yet the one thing I can say about the book is that you will have to try for yourselves to form an opinion on it.
