Encounter: The Bookworm

by Robert Parker

Episode 188 of Eamon

About the Story

Hokas Tokas approaches you: "We need your help." he says. "Will you aid us?"

You leave the bar following Hokas. He takes you down a couple of side streets and comes to a stop in front of the Eamon Public Library.

Inside the library, you see books thrown about, as if vandals had broken in and ransacked the place. Picking up one of the books, you see a three inch hole through the center of it. Opening it up, you discover that all of the pages are now completely blank. "The Bookworm." Hokas hisses through clenched teeth.

This adventure is part of the Eamon universe. Like all Eamon adventures, it is an RPG-style game, mostly using a two-word parser. Because Eamon is a modular system, you may bring a character and equipment from other adventures into this one.

EamonAG

This is a very decent Eamon, arguably Rob's best work. It doesn't rate higher because it is a bit low on content, but the writing and mapping are excellent, and it has several novel room ideas. I came very close to revising my old rating upwards after replaying it for this review.
