DharmaQuest

by Roger Pender

Episode 74 of Eamon
1984
RPG
Eamon

About the Story

After a bitter quarrel with you lover, you decided to have a few drinks with your friends. While at the bar, you made two grave mistakes. The first mistake was over-indulging in hyperborean mead, the favorite drink of your friend, Conan the Cimmerian. Your second mistake was insulting Hokas Tokas, the Main Hall's resident wizard.

"You," Hokas spoke in a low, measured tones, "although a great warrior, you are a selfish, self-centered fool! Only my sense of honor and discipline prevent me from striking you dead where you stand!

"Instead, I will send you on a quest to the land of Dharma. Perhaps you will learn to help others and not think only of yourself..."

With a smile, Hokas waves his hand and the Main Hall vanishes!

This adventure is part of the Eamon universe. Like all Eamon adventures, it is an RPG-style game, mostly using a two-word parser. Because Eamon is a modular system, you may bring a character and equipment from other adventures into this one.

Roger says there are two missions in this adventure, one within the other. Actually I feel there are three LEVELS of missions: one to help others, another explained in the adventure and the third in the temples of the Greek Gods. I played this adventure approximately 6 times and it continued to hold my interest.
