Hi. I've been playing/reading IF (I've always been unsure which verb to apply to IF as a general category) more or less consistently for at least eight years. I primarily play a mix of choice-based and parser-based IF (I don't know technical terms, but these seem close enough).
Currently I'm still in college, trying to decide what to do with my life-- or, in other words, searching for a way to pursue my creative passions in a way I can live off of comfortably. I really enjoy writing (and reading) fiction, especially love stories (note: not romance novels) and quite a few varieties of fantasy (darker and more playful, historical and more modern); I also like political intrigue, poetry, and probably a few other genres/subgenres that are escaping me just now.
I also like video games, most notably turn-based RPGs and roguelikes. I've tried playing Dungeons & Dragons a few times as well, but haven't had luck with the groups I've been in for a variety of reasons. I have ideas for making games, but I don't know anything about programming or coding or what have you. Sometimes I think I was born in the wrong generation.
I've thought about writing IF of my own, but haven't stumbled upon any gripping ideas yet. If I ever do, I suppose I'll give it a shot.
