Cling On, Fleeting Soul

My ending, like most, is written in fire. In Aobia, people take on the light-power known as Luminosity through a deep Sleep endured within an Orb. For many, these Orbs are a harbour. But for some, they offer a fatal risk: Sleep too much and suffer a nova event, purging oneself from the physical world. One Sleeper, however, takes a different path, and is rewarded with the ability to journey through the mystery of the Orb. She will be the first to discover just how the light-power comes to manifest on the earth, whilst reliving the stages of her bodily death–and the celestial being she will become.
Before the darkness swallows it whole, the star will burn the heavens. This is a standalone short story belonging to the The Song of the Sleepers series.
